Late pledge: closed, alternatives

Data last checked: · how we verify numbers

The late pledge is closed. After the crowdfund ended at £1,313,755 from 10,959 backers [official], late pledging ran through Hive’s pledge manager from 28 August 2026 [official, Update #13], was extended to 9 October [official, Update #16], drew a final “24 hours left” notice that same day [official, Update #18] and closed — so fulfilment could start. At our check every tier on the Kickstarter page sat under an “All gone” heading [official, checked 2026-10-12]. This page is the definitive record: the exact closure chain, what late tiers cut, and the three alternatives left for anyone who missed it.

Warning

Nothing on this page is a purchase link. The official channels are shut; the Hive page’s remaining buttons are documented below precisely so nobody mistakes them for a live shop.

2026-10-09“Surveys close in 1 day!” — the final public notice: 24 hours of late pledging left, then surveys shut so that fulfilment could begin. A followers-only update that day says the same.Updates #18/#19 [official]
2026-10-12 (our check)All six reward tiers on the campaign page are grouped under “All gone” in the rewards sidebar. The header’s ORDER NOW button still points at Hive.[official, checked 2026-10-12]

No update after the 9 October close announced a reopening, and none had appeared by our check [our check of the 19 campaign updates].

What a late pledge actually was

Late pledges priced identically to the campaign tiers — £58 / £115 / £280 [official Hive page] — with one official cut and one official warning. The cut: the Art Print. The warning: availability was never guaranteed, because the official FAQ told would-be late pledgers they “no longer have access to Kickstarter Exclusive pricing and we cannot guarantee availability of rewards and add-ons” [official FAQ].

The three late-pledge tiers — identical prices to the campaign, minus the Art Print [official]
Late tierPriceWhat it keptWhat it droppedBackers
Late: The Defender£58The base game, shipping October 2026.The A5 foil Art Print.450
Late: The Guardian£115The base game plus the Deluxe Box Sleeve, the Wooden Token Upgrade Set (25 pieces), the Player Pin Set (5 pins) and the Protective Card Sleeve Set (160 sleeves). The Art Print.249
Late: The Collector£280Everything above, plus the Collector’s Box — metal pawns, Dumbledore’s Army set, Luxury Token Bag, Signed Artist’s Portfolio — as a second shipment in March 2027.The Art Print.95

That is 794 late pledgers across the three tiers [official counts, sum our arithmetic] — on top of the 10,959 who backed live. Hive’s own page worded the cut plainly: “the Kickstarter Exclusive Art Print is no longer available for late pledges” [official Hive page].

Versus our analysis

The FAQ warned about “Kickstarter Exclusive pricing” evaporating, yet Hive listed the same £58 / £115 / £280 as the campaign. The real difference was content and certainty: no Art Print, and no guarantee any tier or add-on was still in production. Late pledging was a queue for leftovers, not a discount [our analysis on official wording].

The Hive page today: buttons without a till

The Hive late-pledge page still renders all three LATE PLEDGE tiers and their Pledge £58 / £115 / £280 buttons at the time of writing [our test, 2026-10-12]. Clicking any of them lands on a Hive sign-in / sign-up wall — orderability cannot be confirmed without registering an account, so the button’s presence is not proof of stock Unconfirmed [our test + second-hand]. Hive’s project directory even labels the project “Pledge Manager Open”, but that status covers backers completing their own surveys and support tickets — not new sales [official Hive page]. Two more tells: no official update has announced a reopening, and Hive’s own project statistics are a stale mid-campaign snapshot — 1,145,517 GBP from 9,436 backers against the official £1,313,755 / 10,959 [official Hive page vs official JSON].

Our position: treat late pledging as closed. Anyone determined to test it should sign in at Hive and try, or ask support directly — see the third alternative below.

The three alternatives, ranked

  1. Official leftovers at House of MinaLima locations and events. After fulfilment, a small supply of additional Kickstarter Exclusive items will be made for damaged and lost parcels, and leftover stock “may be sold at limited events, House of MinaLima locations, and activations” — the campaign’s own words [official FAQ]. This is the only officially sanctioned route to exclusives outside the campaign, and it is a low-probability hunt: stock exists to avoid destroying leftovers, not to serve late demand, and no schedule was ever published. Treat it as a lottery, not a plan [our analysis].
  2. The secondary market, from roughly November 2026. On 2026-10-12 an eBay UK search returned zero listings, eBay US only two unrelated results, and BGG’s GeekMarket none — because no backer boxes had landed yet [our check]. Fulfilment was only just beginning, so expect the first resale wave roughly 2–6 weeks after deliveries arrive [our estimate]. Direction of prices when it forms: premiums on the Kickstarter exclusives, which never reprint [official FAQ], and discounts on base-game copies as 2027 wholesale retail scales up [our estimate]. The hand-signed portfolio is the prime counterfeit target — demand provenance before paying collector prices [our analysis].
  3. The support-ticket route, to ask directly. Open a ticket at bit.ly/DOHsupport — Hive’s ticket system for this project — and ask plainly whether a new late pledge can still be placed. It is the only channel that can answer definitively, and expectations should be low: the last official word was closure on 2026-10-09 [official, Update #18].
